A free-will offering will be taken to support the Matthew Kelly Foundation “School Project”.  Baby-sitting will be provided. Matthew’s books, tapes and CD’s will be available for purchase.  A book-signing and light reception will follow his presentation in the Parish Center.

2004 DIOCESAN ANNUAL APPEAL– COMMITMENT WEEKEND!  “Sharing God’s Gifts” Last weekend you were asked to prayerfully consider a generous pledge to the Diocesan Annual Appeal. This weekend at all of the Masses, one person from each household will be asked to complete a pledge card. If you have already given by mail, or cannot give at this time, please mark the cards accordingly. All parishioners are encouraged to make their pledge today. Your commitment will help our parish meet its Annual Appeal Goal of $20,695.00.

 

ALL PARISHIONERS ARE INVITED! Today and Sunday’s throughout the school year, light refreshments will be available immediately following the 8:30AM Mass in the Adult Education Room of the Parish Center. Come enjoy this opportunity to gather with members of our parish family.  All are welcome!

 

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REMINDERS!

Pre-School Classes for children ages 3-5 are held during the 8:30AM Mass in the Parish Center.

Religious Education Grades K – 8! Classes for student's Grades K-7 are held from 9:30AM-10:40AM in the Parish Center.  8th Grade Class will meet at the same in the Dining Room of the Rectory.

High School Religious Education Classes for student’s Grade 9-12 begins tonight with MATTHEW KELLY’S presentation from 7:00PM – 8:00PM, in the Church. Parents are urged to attend with their student(s).Classes will continue Sunday evenings from 7:00PM – 8:30PM in the Parish Center.

 

 

AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE!  Tues., Sept. 28, 12:00 (Noon) – 6:00PM at St. Peter’s Parish Center.

This blood drive is being sponsored by the Wellsboro Moose Lodge and is open to the public.  Please consider giving the ‘gift of life’.

Thank you for your generosity last weekend.  A total of $1,883.00 was collected for the Hurricane Charley Relief Fund of Catholic Charities, USA. Your contributions will be forwarded to the Diocese of Scranton to assist in providing the urgently needed shelter, food, water and materials needed. 

 

Gwen Zugarek would like to thank all the parishioners and friends who supported her bake sale. A total of $311.40 was raised to help with her mission trip to Uganda. Gwen promises to keep in touch and let us know how her work with the children in the Friends Orphanage/School is going.


Thank you to the parishioners of our Mission Church of Sacred Heart in Morris for their recent donation of $350.00, which was used to offset a portion of the cost of the Altar Server Trip to Darien Lake this past August.

LOCAL FOOD PANTRY REMINDER! The food pantry is located in the basement of the United Methodist Church (corner of Main & Queen Sts.) and distributes food on the 2nd Monday and 4th Tuesday (Sept. 28) of each month between the hours of 10:00AM and 1:00PM.

ROSE MASS – Sunday, October 3, 2004 at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Scranton at 10:00AM.  Most Rev. John M. Dougherty, D.D. will be the Principal Celebrant.  Please join us in prayer and celebration of the gift of life.

LIFE CHAIN SUNDAY will be held this year on Sunday, October 3rd.  This is a nationwide silent vigil to advance the Pro-Life cause. Participants gather on the main streets of towns and cities throughout the United States holding signs proclaiming the pro-life message. In Wellsboro, many of our community churches participate and we at St. Peter’s have always had volunteers at the event. Gather at the Green at 2:15PM next Sunday to participate from 2:30PM – 3:30PMSigns will be provided. A great chance to be God’s messenger!  Questions?
