OUR MISSION STATEMENT
“WE, THE PEOPLE OF ST. PETER’S/SACRED HEART PARISH,
SEEK TO GROW IN THE HOLY SPIRIT AND EMPOWER EACH OTHER IN DOING GOD’S WORK.”
DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?
This day Jesus weeps for his dead friend Lazarus. He asks Martha, “If anyone believes in me, even though he dies, he will live. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” After Martha’s “yes,” Jesus raised Lazarus, and we are witnesses. Paul adds, “If the Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, then he who raised Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies.” Resurrection is the key to our witness and our faith in Jesus. The home is owned by our parish, but is non-denominational. We are in need of new volunteers so we may continue to serve our community through this ministry. Many previous volunteers have left the area, or are unable to work due to personal situations. Medical training is not necessary, only a willingness to minister to a terminally ill guest of the home during their final days. There is an application process and basic training will be provided. For more information, please contact Carol Tobey . (Applications are also available from the Parish Office.)
CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC RENEWAL will hold a Spring Retreat with Msgr. John Essef from March 31st - April 2nd at the Fatima Renewal Center in Dalton, Pa. Registration by mail only. For more information call (570) 344-2214.
Pope John Paul II
Lord, source of eternal life and truth, You gave to your shepherd John Paul a spirit of courage and right judgement; A spirit of knowledge and love.
By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care he, as successor to the apostle Peter and vicar of Christ, built your Church into a sacrament of unity, love, and peace for the world.
Through his intercession, may we continue to be helped as we pray for peace and unity in our world. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen
