St. Margaret Mary

St. Peter's/Sacred Heart has participated in the Adopt-A-Parish Program since 1994. Our "adopted" sister parish is St. Margaret Mary in Lioneltown, Jamaica. Parishioners contribute monthly to support St. Margaret Mary, an impoverished parish in an impoverished country. The money contributed helps with the education and religious instruction of our sister parish.

Since our affiliation, several groups have gone to Jamaica on a "reverse mission". The groups have been involved in summer religious education and medical work. We have also had periodic clothing, shoe, and book drives to send these needed items to our sister parish. A children's mission group has formed and they collection "pennies for Jamaica" as well as learn about the country and missions.

We have hosted visitors from Jamaica including Sister Connie Ostrander, Sister Naomi Rosenberger, Father Bertram Chin, Fr. Tagaloa Tatino.
