MINISTRIES

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS, both men and women, assist the celebrant in giving Holy Communion under both forms to the congregation during the Sacrifice of the Mass. They also bring the Blessed Sacrament to those members of the Parish who are confined to home, hospital or nursing home because of illness or infirmity. A Eucharistic Minister accompanies the Pastor on his monthly First Friday visits to shut-ins. Arrangements for a loved one to receive Communion at home can be made by calling the Parish Office.

LECTORS - men, women and young adults are the first to proclaim the Word in their reading of the Scripture during the Sacrifice of the Mass and other special liturgies planned throughout the year. Training is offered and special workshops are offered through the deanery.

ALTAR SERVERS are trained and scheduled by a coordinator who is a member of the Worship Committee. Training is usually offered at least once a year and is announced in the bulletin. Candidates must be at least in the third grade or older.

USHERS assist congregation however necessary as well as make collections and choose individuals to make the offertory presentation.

MUSIC MINISTRY consists of many talented musicians using their gifts to the fullest in the service of God and God's people. There are organists, keyboard players and guitarists, percossionists, and descant instruments who join to add a beautiful support to the singing ministry. Cantors are always there to lead the singing of antiphons, psalms, hymns and songs. Young student cantors are welcome to lead. Experienced cantors lead as they are available. Anyone is welcome to join any of the groups who minister at Mass. For more information contact the Parish Office.

PRAYING AND LEARNING TOGETHER

"For me prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy."

St. Therese of Lisieux

Women's Bible Study Groups as they exist, are small in number, loosely structured and favor a casual approach to quiet reflection and study of the scriptures while offering supportive fellowship. Meetings are held Tuesday's from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the Parish Center and are announced in the bulletin.

Wellsboro-Mansfield Prayer Group focuses on Catholic Charismatic worship, sharing and intercessory prayer. "Life in the Spirit" orientation sessions are offered. Opportunities exist for participation in yearly Charismatic conventions. The groupo meets on the first Thursday of the month at Holy Child in Mansfield, and other Thurdays at 7:00PM at the Parish Center. All are welcome!

Mother's Prayer Group meets to share and reflect on the vocation of motherhood and family life in order to develop a closer relationship with Jesus through the intercession of His Mother, Mary. Meetings are held Friday mornings from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Parish Center from September through June. Mothers are encouraged to bring their young children. (Note: Group does not meet when there is no school.)

"
The Quest", a reflection booklet for small Christian Communities, which runs about 4 ½ months in the Spring and 4 ½ months in the Fall has become the guide for our weekly sessions. The sessions are about 1 ½ hours long and are usually held on Tuesday's at 1:00PM at the Parish Center.

Weekly Eucharistic Adoration - Eucharistic Adoration is available every Wednesday from 8 AM until 8 PM. Everyone is welcome to come at anytime during that 12 hour period. The Eucharistic Chapel is located in the room off the carport entrance of the church.
